A day in the life...

"She wouldn't stop bugging me to come see you," Vanessa laughed.

"I missed you Uncle Cody!" Tessa said, hugging him tightly.

"Missed you too" Cody murmured, shooting Ted a look that was full of love and gratitude "Are you gonna stay with me for a while Tessa?"

"Mmhm," Tessa muttered. "Mommy said I can even spend the night if you let me!"

"Well I'd like it if your mommy stayed too" Cody looked up at his sister "How about it Nessie? Just for a night, it would mean a lot to me."

Vanessa smiled.

"Alright, but just for the night, I've got a job interveiw tommorrow." Vanessa said.

"Thanks sis" Cody leaned forward and weakly hugged his sister "You've made my day."

"I've missed you," Vanessa said. "And I wasn't about to let you go through all this on your own."

Cody smiled even as he began to shiver slightly when a breeze began to blow "Teddy..." he shuddered uncomfortably "I think it's time I went back inside now."

Vanessa turned to Ted who nodded and walked over to pick Cody up as Vanessa picked up Tessa.

"Thank you so much" Cody whispered, snuggling into Ted's warm grasp "You're amazing, you know that?"

"I just want you to be happy again Cody," Ted whispered. "I miss your smile."

"Well I'm happy now" Cody murmured, giving Ted the biggest smile he could muster "I love you Teddy-bear."

"I love you too baby-boy," Ted murmured.

A few short hours it was time for Ted to take Cody to his chemotherapy session.

"I don't want to go..." Cody murmured, curled up in the seat of the car "How much more do I have to do Teddy?"

"You have an appointment with you oncologist next week to figure that out Cody," Ted said.

Cody sighed and began to doze, he really wanted this nightmare to be over.

Ted looked at Cody through the rearview mirror and sigh. He give anything to trade places with him.

An hour later...

Cody could NOT stop dry heaving, the only thing stopping him from collapsing to the floor was Ted's iron grip,

"T..Teddy...." he gasped weakly "It..hurts....so bad...."

"I know baby-boy I know," Ted whispered.

When Cody's body finally did calm down he was literally as limp as a rag doll and practically unconscious

"You wanna go lie down in bed baby, or you wanna go lie on the couch with your sister?" Ted asked.

"Bed...please....." Cody could barely talk he was so exhausted from the treatment

"Alright," Ted said, as he carried Cody toward the bedroom he smiled as he saw Tessa pulling back the blankets so he could lie Cody down.

"Thanks....Tessa...." Cody lay stretched out on the bed and did his best to fall asleep

Tessa smiled and crawled up onto the bed next to Cody. "I'll help you sleep," Tessa whispered.
