Adam was later moved to a room in the ICU to battle with the virus that was draining the life out of him.

Jay didn't leave Adam's side for a moment, he'd never seen his older lover so weak and so close to death before. He passed the time gently stroking Adam's hand or running his fingers through his soaked blonde hair.

"Addy I love you so much." He tenderly kissed the sick man's hand "I know you can hear me...please, please come back to me...I love you so much."

Adam gave a soft moan to show he was still alive, but gave no true response.

Leaning back with a sigh, Jay continued to hold Adam's hand in his lap and softly began to sing:

"That's it baby, that's it..." Jay smiled and rubbed Adam's hand with his thumb "Come back to me."

Adam moved his hand a little more, trying to open his eyes.

"That's it..that's it..." Jay sat up and ran his fingers through Adam's hair "C'mon sunshine, open your eyes for me."

Adam slowly opened his eyes and looked around, everything still covered in a fevered haze.

"Hey baby..." Jay smiled, stroking Adam's forehead and kissing him on the cheek "You had me scared for a while, welcome back."

"How did I get here?" Adam asked, last thing he remembered clearly was being on the phone with Jay.

"You were burning up with a fever when I got home" Jay murmured, continuing to stroke Adam's hand "You passed out on the way here, I...I thought I was going to lose you." Jay brushed away a few tears and kissed Adam's hand "Baby I was so scared..."

"Hey, shhh," Adam whispered. "You know I would never leave you." His signature grin crept across his face. "You be wandering around like a little lost puppy without me to keep you straight."

"Adam I thought you were going to die!" Jay's grin faded and more and more tears began to fall down his face "You were so pale and still...I wanted to scream when you passed out because I didn't think you were going to wake up!"

Jay climbed into the bed without a second thought, wrapping his arms around Adam's slender body "Don't you ever scare me like that again" he whispered softly

Sighing in relief, Jay leaned against Adam's chest and fell asleep.

Happy that he'd been able to soothe Jay's fear, Adam soon drifted off to sleep.

When morning came, the two were still in each other's arms. Eventually, Adam woke up and stretched in bed. But Jay...didn't move at all.
