"N-never...." Brett's voice trailed off and he grew still, even his shivering had lessened.

Adam eyed the younger man worriedly. "Don't worry about that right now," Adam murmured. "Worry about you for now."

Brett moaned, but didn't respond otherwise, he was terribly pale from being outside for so long, he looked like he was getting sick.

Adam shook his head and sighed. The only thing he cared about right now was takinng care of Brett.

Brett looked like he was asleep, but the look of pain on his face gave him away.

Brett gave a soft whimper and began to tremble again, he was starting to mumble incoherently, his head weakly twisting from side to side

"Sorry...." he whispered occasionally "S-sorry Taylor, I'm s-so sorry...."

Brett couldn't hear a word Adam said, he was getting sicker by the minute...

Sighing softly Adam made a U-turn away from the road toward his home, he knew who could help Brett.

By the time the car pulled to a stop, Brett was running a high fever and looked to be suffering from the first stages of pneumonia (all as a result of being outside for so long). He vaguely felt someone try to pick him up and flinched, whimpering as he did so.

"Ad..Adam?" Brett's voice was extremely faint "T-tell T-Taylor I'm s-sorry..."

"You'll be able to tell her yourself soon," Adam whispered. "Just hang in there."

"W-where..." Brett's eyes were clouded with sickness and confusion "Where are we?"

"We're at the hospital Brett," Adam said. "A friend of mine is gonna take care of you, you'll be just fine."

"Are...are you gonna l-leave me here?" Brett's voice became a whimper and he tightly gripped Adam's hand "I d-don't wanna be alone..."

"I'm...glad..." Brett weakly smiled before his voice trailed off and his eyes slid shut.

Brett lay completely limp in Adam's lap, his fever already at a dangerous 103.

"Don't go...don't go..." Brett mumbled deliriously under his breath "Don't leave me alone..."
